Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center (easy access off OH 315)
The Ohio State University
2201 Fred Taylor Drive, Columbus, OH 43210

Join Newark native, Laura Neese and her phenomenal lead dog Maple as she shares her adventure running 1,000 miles with her team of Alaskan Huskies. In February 2018, Laura raced in the Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race. Laura will take us down the trail from Fairbanks, Alaska to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory to experience the vast wilderness, the extreme cold, and the unique personalities of her amazing canine athletes. With her 3rd place finish and being the only woman out of seven to finish the race, Laura has suddenly positioned herself to become one of the premier dog mushers in the world.

Laura will share how participating in 4-H helped to foster her love for animals and how it also prepared her for the challenges she faces in her career as a long-distance musher by setting goals, persevering, speaking in public, and caring for and training dogs.

A donation of $5.00 per person or $20.00 per family is suggested. Free parking permits provided.
