Ohio State Fair 4-H PetPALS Day

1.    Participation is open to youth ages 8 and in the third grade, or 9 years old and older regardless of grade level, as of January 1, 2019. The last year of eligibility, or participation, in 4-H is the year in which the individual turns 19.

2.    Youth must be enrolled in 4-H PetPALS, Project No. 230, to be eligible for judging.

3.    All youth enrolled in 4-H PetPALS can enter 4-H PetPALS Day at the Ohio State Fair.

        a.    Youth are not required to be evaluated at the county level to enter OSF 4-H PetPALS Day.

        b.    Entries must be postmarked by Wednesday, July 17 for youth to be eligible for 4-H PetPALS Day.

               i.     There is no fee to enter.

               ii.    County educators MUST sign the entry form prior to it being postmarked for the entry to be valid.

               iii.   Completed entry forms must be sent to Lucinda Miller, Extension Specialist 4-H, 2201 Fred Taylor Dr., Columbus, OH 43210 by the postmark entry                             deadline.

               iv.   An entry form can be found at the end of these rules.

4.    For the 4-H PetPALS, Project No. 230, an exhibitor may bring one of the animals used in animal-assisted activities visits, EXCEPT for dogs. Youth taking dogs as 4-H PetPALS animals must be judged during the Ohio State Fair Dog Show and not during 4-H PetPALS Day.
