All participants must be current 4-H members as of January 1, 2023.
Each SENIOR contestant must have passed his or her 14th birthday and not be older than 18 years of age as of January 1, 2023. (Therefore, youth turning 19 on or before December 31, 2022Â are too old to participate.)
Each JUNIOR contestant must be 8 years of age and in the 3rd grade, or 9 years old and older regardless of grade level, as of January 1, 2023, and younger than 14 years of age as of January 1, 2023. (Therefore, youth turning 14 on or before December 31, 2022Â must participate in the Senior Contest.)
Contestants must not have participated in a national poultry judging contest for the respective judging contest/species they wish to enter.
Contestants must not have participated in or enrolled in official post-secondary (university, college, junior college, or technical school) competitive judging events, including judging courses, for the respective contest/species they wish to enter.
Youth must represent their county of 4-H enrollment. A team must consist of a minimum of three and a maximum of four members within the same age category.
When four members judge, the contestant with the lowest overall score will be designated as the alternate, however, will still be eligible for individual awards.
If a county does not have enough members for a team, they may enter one or two individuals to compete for the high individual.
Registration Information:
$5.00 per person, entries must be postmarked by Monday, July 17th.
