This month, 33 teen 4-H members were recognized for their exceptional accomplishments during the 2026 4-H Achievement Awards banquet. Earlier this year, these individuals were selected from a pool of over 403 applicants. Each honoree was chosen for their mastery in specific project areas, as well as their outstanding leadership, dedicated community service, and significant contributions to their county and state 4-H programs.
The evening featured a keynote from Sara Bailey, a Columbiana County 4-H alumna. Inducted into the Ohio 4-H Teen Hall of Fame as the 2025 Teen of the Year, Bailey shared how her 13 years of active membership shaped her path. Her extensive work in livestock and veterinary science projects paved the way for her current studies at The Ohio State University, where she is majoring in animal sciences and aspires to become a livestock and equine veterinarian.
In addition to her project journey, Bailey highlighted her time on the Ohio 4-H Teen Leadership Council, the National 4-H Conference, and the National 4-H Congress. She also discussed the Greece Immersion Project and the personal significance of being the 2025 Personal Development Achievement Award recipient.
As each winner was announced and took the stage, the audience viewed prerecorded videos of the honorees. These clips allowed the teens to share the personal stories behind their projects and the lasting impact 4-H has had on their lives.
“What started as a fun hobby quickly became something I am very passionate about,” said Claire Bradury, the Creative Arts Achievement Award winner from Pickaway County. “For me, cake decorating is not just about making something look pretty. It is about creating something I am proud of and can share with others. Through 4-H, I feel like I have grown in both creativity and confidence. This award represents all the time, effort, and love I have put into my project. I am grateful for all the opportunities 4-H has given me.”

Beyond the achievement awards, we recognized several youth stepping into leadership roles. This includes our 2026 Shooting Sports Ambassadors and the dairy enthusiasts representing Ohio at the National 4-H Dairy Conference. We also joined the Ohio Township Association in applauding the winners of their Local Government Awards.
