In order to make this range a more user friendly training and completive area, we needed to level and widen the range.
Don Black Administrative Manager of the Ohio Operating Engineers Apprenticeship & Training, Local 18 along with Mike Copper, Regional Coordinator and some operating apprentices has volunteered to do the task. This may not sound like a lot, but it will require over 15 feet of earth over 200 feet wide and over 175 feet long to be evenly spread out over an area 200 feet by 300 feet, that raises the forward area some 5 to 6 feet higher than before.
We started to work November 2, 2015 with a Caterpillar D6, and D4 Dozers, two Caterpillar 613 Scrappers, and a John Deere 770 Grader to begin the project.
To date November 18, 2015 the majority of the project has been completed with only some final top soil placement, drainage lines added and grass seeding to complete early next year, weather permitting.
