It's been a great ride, EV3, and we are sorry to see you go!
LEGO® Mindstorms® EV3 kits have been discontinued, and support for the software is likely to discontinue in the coming year. The curriculum and videos on these pages, however, will remain available as long as 4-H members and others need them. For now, the software that matches the project books can be downloaded here: LEGO® Mindstorms® Education EV3 Lab Software v. 1.4.5.
507 Robotics 1 with EV3—Use this ONLY if you already have access to an EV3 kit.
Use LEGO® technology to learn about what a robot is, how to build one, and how to program it. Activities are based on the EV3 Core Set, which is no longer available from LEGO® Education. (Careful, other EV3 kits may not be the same!) This is the first in a series of two books.
A few resources are needed:
- Project book 507 Robotics 1 with EV3 is available for download.
- Youth need access to a computer and high speed internet.
- Files and videos that support the activities are available HERE.
508 Robotics 2: EV3N More—Use this ONLY if you already have access to an EV3 kit.
This advanced-level project, the second in the series, guides youth through new robot configurations and programming challenges with activities in the book and instructional videos. The LEGO® Mindstorms® EV3 robot constructed for Robotics 1 with EV3 is required. (No new purchase is necessary.) A few resources are needed:
- Project book 508 Robotics 2: EV3N More is available for download.
- Youth need access to a computer and high speed internet.
- Videos that support the activities are available HERE.
